Limited Activity Members (LAMs)
LAMs are members of our church family that have difficulty getting to church for worship or other special events, yet they remain an important part of us. Our LAMS may live at home or in a care facility. We believe in including them as much as possible in our church life by visiting, delivering bulletins and newsletters, altar flowers, communion and more.
CUMC has 30-40 shepherds (men and women who have volunteered to care for particular LAMs). Our shepherds visit their LAMs at least once per month, bringing church news and providing spiritual support. We also have volunteers who serve Home Communion, and others who deliver the alter flowers to the LAMs. Still others send cards on birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, illness, and other celebrations or difficulties.
We currently have over 70 LAMs to care for. If you would like to enrich the life of a LAM, please contact Joanne Reynolds, our LAMs coordinator.
