Crucial Conversations
When the importance of the outcome is high, opinions vary, and emotions start to run strong, casual conversations turn into crucial ones. Ironically, the more crucial the conversation, the less likely we are to handle it well. The consequences of either avoiding or fouling up crucial conversations can be severe, and can affect every aspect of our lives - from our careers, to our communities, to our relationships, to our personal health. However, we can learn how to step up to crucial conversations and handle them well. As we prepare for conversations and decisions our congregation may need to make concerning "A Way Forward," we will be using Crucial Conversations, a well-received book that provides guidelines and hope for having productive conversations. The book, along with discussion, will show and help us with tools for talking when stakes are high.
Book costs $10. Class takes place Every other Thursday (Jan. 17-May 9), 1:00-2:30pm. Led by Christina Benson & Jacquie Bunt.
