We rejoice in the opportunity to share the blessings of holy matrimony with you. Your wedding is a sacred occasion. We believe that "it is instituted of God, regulated by God's commandments, blessed by our Lord Jesus Christ, and to be held in honor among all..."
We ask that couples wishing to marry in the church attend worship with us both before and after the wedding, distance permitting. As you start a new life together, we would like to get to know you and support you in all the changes that lie ahead as well as for you to get to know us.
The use of CUMC and its facilities, for the wedding service and/or the reception, is available to church members and their families at the discretion of the pastors.
The first step in planning your wedding at CUMC is to meet with one of our pastors. At that time a date will be set for your ceremony and the pastor will describe the process of premarital counseling and help you begin planning your wedding service. Once you have met with a pastor and selected a date, our wedding coordinator will meet with you to help plan your special day and review the wedding policy.
We do require premarital counseling with one of our pastors. We want to provide you with every possibility of success in Christian marriage. The premarital counseling consists of an online questionnaire and several sessions with the pastor to discuss strengths and growth areas.
