The Power of Words

The Power of Words - Words with Friends and Family

If you imagine your heart like a plant, did you know your words can be like round-up? They can kill the plants they come into contact with. James says that your words can be salt water or fresh water. Fresh water gives life and salt water kills like round-up. In order to water the hearts of those in your family and friends remember 4 phrases:

  1. Be quick to listen and slow to speak
  2. I love you
  3. Forgive as Christ has forgiven you
  4. Thank you

Series Information

Sundays: October 11-25

Words have power. The Bible notes that, "Death and life are in the power of the tongue." With our words we insult, or encourage, we curse or we bless. With them we build trust or tear it down. Our words have the power to strengthen relationships or to destroy them. Join us as we reflect on the power of our words and learn principles to use them as tools for life!
