The Stories We Thought We Knew

Sundays: May 31-July 19, 2026

The Stories We Thought We Knew
We’ve heard them before.
The stories that shaped our faith, filled our children’s Bibles, and linger in our memory from Sunday school classrooms and sanctuary pews. They feel familiar, comfortable, even predictable.
Or so we think.
The Stories We Thought We Knew is an invitation to slow down and listen again. To notice what we may have missed along the way. A detail we skimmed past. A tension we ignored. A question we never thought to ask.
In this series, we return to well-known biblical stories with fresh eyes and open hearts. We look beneath the surface and around the edges, paying attention to the human moments, the silences, the surprises, and the grace that often shows up where we least expect it.
Because these stories were never meant to be flat or one-dimensional. They are layered, living stories, stories that still speak, still challenge, still invite us into deeper faith and fuller lives.
You may know how the story goes.
But you might be surprised by what the story still has to say.

#struggles

October 14 - November 11, 2018
As you scroll through your day, does it feel like everyone else has it all together? Someone always has the best job, cutest kid, or happiest relationship. We're pressured to measure up to other people's social media status updates and left with more #struggles.

This five-week series studies what it's like to live a Christ-focused life in a selfie-centered world. Topics include finding compassion, authenticity, relationships, contentment, and rest.

Generations

The Real Christmas Story

December 3-24, 2017
We all have our favorite Christmas movies, the ones we watch year after year - movies that bring friends and families together, that inspire us, and that make us laugh. And sometimes, they remind us of what Christmas is all about - the timeless story of hope and joy and love - the birth of a child.

3 Simple Rules

John Wesley, founder of Methodism, had three simple rules for the covenant groups and church he began. During this sermon series, we will look at these rules, learning what they meant to Wesley and what they mean to us today.
