Anxiety shows up for all of us - but it doesn't have to run the show.
Join us for Anxious for Nothing, a two-week study based on the powerful and peace-filled words of Philippians 4:6-7. Through the relatable storytelling of New York Times bestselling author Max Lucado, we'll explore practical, faith-filled ways to quiet worry and rediscover calm in the middle of life's chaos. (Fun fact: Philippians 4:6-7 is one of the most highlighted passages in the Bible according to Amazon).
Come laugh, reflect, and learn together as we take a hopeful step toward peace that lasts. Led by Michelle Williams.

Jesus often taught in stories - but these weren't just simple illustrations. His parables reveal deep truths about God's Kingdom, inviting us to see faith, life, and love in a whole new way.
In this 3-week study, we'll explore the parables of Jesus and discover how they connect to His greater message of hope, grace, and transformation. Guided by pastor-teacher John MacArthur's insights, we'll dig into Scripture together and uncover meaning that still speaks powerfully to our lives today.
Whether you're new to studying the Bible or looking to go deeper, this class offers a welcoming space to learn, reflect, and grow in faith together.

The Commission on the Beloved Community is offering a special invitation to the
Believers in Action of Carlisle UMC to participate in our upcoming 3rd Pilgrimage of
Pain and Hope.
Journeying as pilgrims in the communities where we live and serve, we will seek to be
attentive to both the pain and the hope experienced by BIPOC (Black, Indigenous,
and people of color) in the past and present day. By exploring and reflecting on the
geography, history, and stories of the people we are called to serve, we aim to step
transformed together into a future that is faithful.
During this three-day experience, we will engage with the "geography of pain and
hope" in our own backyard. Our itinerary includes visiting the Carlisle Indian School
to explore the history of Indigenous peoples and the legacy of the boarding school
system. Throughout Carlisle and Harrisburg, we will also confront the history of
segregation and racial justice efforts in our region. Our goal is to reflect on these
stories to deepen our collective commitment to building the Beloved Community within
the Susquehanna Conference.
Spaces are limited due to bus capacity; we encourage you to register early to secure
your place. Program costs include transportation, parking, lunch and dinner, speaker
and venue fees. Scholarships are also available.
Cost per person:
o $375 (Double Room, breakfast included)
o $480 (Single Room, breakfast included)
o $200 (Program only; no hotel required)
Registration Deadline: June 12, 2026 (or until the buses are full).

Mindful Women meets the second Monday of the month from September thru May; our quarterly dinner meetings at 6pm at CUMC are on September 8, December 8, March 9, and May 11). These dinner meetings are lively and fun. We also meet in two small group sessions each of the other months (October 13, November 10, January 12, February 9, and April 13) at 1 or 6pm. Small group sessions are held in-person and via Zoom, during which we study and discuss various Bible or CUMC mission topics. This season we will use the book, "Alone, Together," by Brian Houser, a collection of short essays that encourage us to find ways to pause, to notice, and to reconnect. We'd love to have you Connect with us at CUMC!
