Get ready to dive into a friendship with God! SCUBA Vacation Bible School is coming your way! VBS will be held Sunday, June 9 through June 13, 5:30-8pm at Carlisle UMC. On Friday, June 14 there will be a closing program and picnic beginning at 5:30pm.
During VBS kids (ages: entering K thru 5th grade in the fall) will sing, play games, discover different things in the Imagination Station, and explore Bible stories.
Dinner will be offered at 5pm for kids who are interested (a parent must accompany kids to the dinner).

Count It All Joy Stick-A-Long

Tuesdays, July 9-23, 6-7:30pm at CUMC

Join us for the first CUMC Stitch-Along! Starting Tuesday, July 9, we will join together to meditate on what it means to "count it all joy" through the art of stitching. This workshop is perfect for beginners and experienced stitchers alike. We will meet from 6-7:30 for a time of learning, fellowship, prayer, and fun. Easy to follow instructional videos will be shared on YouTube so you can keep up or catch up between meetings.
We will follow a 6" design using basic stitches such as: back stitch, split stitch, satin stitch, and french knots. Don't worry if you've never heard of these stitches, we will walk through them together.
Supply cost - $10 for hoop, fabric, needle and DMC floss.

It's easy to. be happy when things go well, but what would it be like to have a sense of joy that continues in every circumstance of life? Let's find out together in this three-week class as we look at the Apostle Paul's letter to the Philippians. The book, "Philippians: Jesus Our Joy," by Donald Baker is required for participation and is available on Amazon. Led by Pastor Jim VanZandt.

Suicide Prevention Training

June 6, 6-8pm, Room A2

CUMC will host a Suicide Prevention Training called QPR: (Question, Persuade, and Refer Training) on June 6 6-8pm in A2.  This is provided through the Cumberland-Perry County MH/IDD to assist families and neighbors how to respond if someone you love or know is struggling with suicide.  Training is best for teens and older. Training is limited to 30 people.  Please use the Main Church Door under the cross for entrance.

Parents of kids and students involved in Kids Min and Student Min activities at CUMC are invited to join the discussion on Sunday, May 5, 6-7pm at Carlisle UMC of how we can be the "Hero" in our kids' faith journey. This time would be used to generate meaningful ways to create a faith-based relationship with our kids, share life, and have fellowship in the future, while enjoying some desserts. Still Stace Book Discussion

Tuesdays, June 18, 25 & July 9, 7-8pm at CUMC (no class July 2)

An illustrated memoir written on the 7-9th grade reading level by author Stacey Chomiak who shares her personal journey from being a teen who tries to pray the gay away to becoming happily married with 2 kids. She highlights her struggles with people in her life who tried to tell her a relationship with Jesus and being gay are not compatible. Stacey currently lives in Canada with her wife and children and is an advocate for LGBTQ people who want to find a church home where they will be welcomed, embraced and affirmed as beloved children of God and the community of faith. 

 As a bonus, the author will join us by zoom for the last session.

This group is led by our Welcome Coordinator and Chaplain, Andrea Katz who said when she first read the book, “Wow! That’s how I felt!”
