Psalms: Ancient Wisdom for Modern Hearts

Aug 30, 2026 | Pastor Jake Waybright

A Word for Worriers and Work-aholics

Sometimes we live like the weight of the world is on our shoulders. For those who worry or over-work, remember that God gives rest to his beloved. The world is not on your shoulders. Where do you nee to hear that God wants to give you rest from your work of worry or anxious striving? Where do you need to stop the doomscrolling and disconnect and rest?

Series Information

Sundays: August 2-September 6, 2026

The Psalms have been called the church's prayer book. These ancient words speak to all of life's circumstances, shape our faith and our good for heart and soul. This summer, we will let the psalms speak to our hearts and draw us closer to God.

Each week we will invite people to memorize a verse from a Psalm. As they commit it to heart, we will also ask them to reflect on how that psalm speaks to them and allows them to speak with God.
