Psalms: Ancient Wisdom for Modern Hearts
Psalm of Thanksgiving
The end of the collection of the psalms emphasizes giving thanks. After we have been through the disorientation of trials and hardships we can come back to a reorientation to life in which we simply say, "Thanks." Thanksgiving is also the root of our communion prayers - in which we give thanks for all that God has done for us in Christ.

The Psalms have been called the church's prayer book. These ancient words speak to all of life's circumstances, shape our faith and our good for heart and soul. This summer, we will let the psalms speak to our hearts and draw us closer to God.
Each week we will invite people to memorize a verse from a Psalm. As they commit it to heart, we will also ask them to reflect on how that psalm speaks to them and allows them to speak with God.
