From the beginning, the Psalms make a bold claim - happy are those whose delight is in God and God's teachings. They will flourish like a tree planted by the water. Like the scoffers in the Psalm we can become distracted with lots of other voices. One way to root ourselves and delight in God is by memorizing scripture so that our hearts become a highway to God.

The Psalms have been called the church's prayer book. These ancient words speak to all of life's circumstances, shape our faith and our good for heart and soul. This summer, we will let the psalms speak to our hearts and draw us closer to God.
Each week we will invite people to memorize a verse from a Psalm. As they commit it to heart, we will also ask them to reflect on how that psalm speaks to them and allows them to speak with God.
